Nexus cabinets are loaded with cutting edge Celestion Neodymium drivers, which use ultra powerful magnet material in order to allow the mass of the magnet to be reduced without compromising the performance of the driver. Result: same great performance but with a greatly reduced cabinet weight which makes life on the road with a Nexus stack much more manageable.
The NX410 is fitted with the exceptionally impressive 10” Celestion Neodymium which gives amazing performance which reducing the weight of the cabinet dramatically. A mighty 800 -watts power handling can be accessed via Neutrik combination sockets that accept Speakon or ¼-inch jack cables mounted on the rear panel.
The NEXUS-SL was designed and conceived with the simple goal of making the best bass amplifier on the market. Hear it and believe! The nexus-sl’s power amplifier section combines the power and portability of cutting-edge class D Technology with the natural warmth, compression and dynamic range that only a tube can give: a high voltage ECC83 tube sits between the preamplifier and the 1000W RMS power section. The ergonomic front panel design allows great bass tone to be found easily. The bottom row of control knobs houses tone shaping, the top row houses bass-sympathetic digital effects: space (reverb or chorus) and interval (octaves or 5ths). Laney developed two unique functions to control the NEXUS-SL power stage. ‘Tilt’ is an instant ‘EQ seesaw’ and ‘touch’ adjusts the feel of the output response.
While a lot of Class D amps are smaller and some even have a bit more power, none have the same feature set as this amplifier. On the front panel you not only have your standard 3 band EQ with parametric Mid sweep but also a 4 way shape control, tilt, touch, space, interval and focus controls that all give you an extra level of flexibility that very few Class D amps can offer.
This is before you get to the back panel and you realise you also have a powerful D.I Out, USB out, Headphone Out, Aux In, FX Loop, Tuner out, Remote footswitch control and a single speakon out to go to your cab of choice. All of these IO options are extremely useful at one time or another so having them all in one small amp is like a dream come true for a lot of players.
The LX range takes its design cues from the more aggressive side of life – dark & brooding. More than just practice amps, fitted with rugged metal grilles and tattoo graphics giving them looks and strength to be taken to the extreme. The LX65R packs a mean punch when it comes to gig worthy combos. It’s twin channel pre-amp covers all the bases from a tone point of view and it 1 x 12” Custom HH driver handles everything the 65 watts RMS output section throws at it whilst still remaining portable and easy to lug round in the boot of your car or back of the van. Featuring true twin channels – Clean and Distortion both switched by an optional FS2– each with its own independent 3 band EQ. The Distortion channel also feature switchable XTS tone shaping for even more extreme tonal options. Another cool feature is the on-board CD/MP3 input for playing along with your favourite band. This LXR model comes with on-board reverb as well as an FX loop, a headphone socket and finally a line out socket. Finished in a tough black Rolex and kick proof metal grille the LX generation will survive endless gigs onstage as well as the rigours of the road.
The Laney R500H is a solid-state head packing an impressive 500W RMS into a very lightweight chassis providing versatility, portability and reliability to all levels of bass player from rehearsal room to a large stage. The front panel houses Normal or High jack inputs a balanced XLR D.I. provides direct, mic-free mixer connection when recording or performing live. An Aux input allows play-along to a backing track and a headphone socket allows for late night playing.
Tony’s backstage amp, the Laney TI15-112 takes all the raw power and tone of the TI100’s high gain channel and crams it into a compact single channel all tube amp. Utilizing Laney’s unique dual wattage input option means you can push the EL84 output section hard and get 15 watts rms of full on tone or plug into the less than 1 watt and get exactly that — your same great tone but at less than 1 watt.
The TI15-112 also features the cool flexibility of being able to record both silently, for late night recording sessions or in live situations via the SPEAKER EMULATED RECORD OUT feature on the rear panel.
