Yamaha Reface CP Electric Piano

The Yamaha Reface CP employs spectral component modeling to authentically recreate the iconic sounds of vintage electric pianos in a compact and user-friendly design. Drawing inspiration from the renowned CP80 and other classic models, the Reface CP offers 128-note polyphony and six distinct piano voices, providing a rich palette of detailed vintage tones.

The intuitive front panel features dedicated knobs and sliders, facilitating quick and precise sound shaping. The voice section includes six unique settings—Rhodes I, Rhodes II, Wurlitzer, Clavinet, Toy, and CP80—with a dedicated drive control for added warmth. Selectable tremolo and wah effects come with depth and rate adjustments, while chorus and phaser effects include analogous control configurations. Additional onboard effects such as digital delay, analog delay, and reverb are easily tweakable via corresponding depth and time knobs.

Despite its miniature 37-note keyboard, the Reface CP does not compromise on playability. Utilizing Yamaha’s High-Quality (HQ) technology, it promises a premium feel and swift response, akin to the flagship Motif XF workstation. Power options include the use of 6 AA batteries or an external power supply, and there is an input for a sustain pedal.

Connectivity is comprehensive, offering dual unbalanced 1/4″ outputs, a stereo 1/4″ headphone jack, a stereo mini TRS input, and a mini-DIN for MIDI in/out. A USB port allows integration with computers or iOS devices. While the Reface CP lacks onboard preset memory, an iOS app functions as a librarian, responding to MIDI CC controller data. Included accessories are a power adapter and a MIDI breakout cable.
