Soundcraft Compact Stagebox

The Compact Stagebox is an extension to the range of Soundcraft digital live sound consoles, designed to provide an economical expansion option for the Soundcraft Vi Series, Si Series, Vi1™, and SI Compact consoles.

Offering a high density of I/O connections in a compact 4U rack space, this modular unit can be fully configured to meet diverse audio requirements. The standard version includes 32 mic/line inputs, 8 line outputs, 8 channels of AES/EBU outputs, and 2 expansion slots for Studer D21m I/O cards. These expansion slots can accommodate connectivity to popular digital formats such as CobraNet®, AVIOM A-Net®16, Ethersound, ADAT, and RockNet, with an option to fit a MADI recording interface as well.

The unit’s versatility allows for the addition of a 16 mic/line input XLR module, bringing the total to 48 inputs. Analog or AES outputs can still be achieved through D21m cards fitted in the expansion slots. The Compact Stagebox uses the same mic/line I/O modules as the Soundcraft Vi1 console, allowing for flexible module sharing between the console and stagebox as needed. The maximum input and output capacity, limited by the MADI console link, is 64 in/64 out.

Connectivity to the host console is via Cat-5 or optical-fibre MADI, similar to the larger Vi6 Stagebox, and it supports redundant MADI cable capability. Key features include twin redundant power supplies, a thermostatically-controlled fan cooling system, full LED status monitoring, and an 8-channel GPIO interface.
