The Bass Station II from Novation is a monophonic analog synthesizer equipped with 25 full-size keys and assignable aftertouch. While predominantly designed for producing rich bass sounds, it excels in creating a variety of leads and arpeggiated sounds as well. The synth engine features three analog oscillators, one of which is a sub-octave oscillator, ensuring a wide range of tonal possibilities.

Bass Station II offers robust sound shaping capabilities through its dual-mode filters – Classic and Acid, dual ADSR envelope generators, two LFOs, and analog distortion. The built-in arpeggiator comes with 32 patterns and a 1-to-4 octave range, while the step sequencer allows for up to four unique sequences, giving you diverse musical expression tools.

Upgradable with the free v4.14 firmware, the Bass Station II can transform into an AFX Station. This firmware introduces the AFX mode, designed in collaboration with Aphex Twin, which allows discrete synthesis parameters for each key. This mode opens up vast new avenues for sound design and performance, allowing unique expressions like individualized key zones and innovative drum kits.
