The FR-1 brings Lyngdorf Audio’s compact speaker philosophy to a new level of performance. This two-way, full-range on-wall speaker uses a closed cabinet design combined with a large passive unit to suppress internal resonance and produce deep bass from an elegantly shallow enclosure. The reduced cabinet depth ensures discreet placement and places drivers close to the wall for optimal room coupling.

Plays excellent without a subwoofer

Equipped with a powerful 6.5″ driver and supported by an 8″ passive unit, the FR-1 delivers low-frequency performance uncommon for such a small cabinet — eliminating the need for a subwoofer in many systems. The main driver features a strong magnet for high output and the passive unit extends bass response and output. Voices are exceptionally open and transients remain tight and clean, making the FR-1 an excellent choice for elegant home media installations. For deeper bass and higher overall output you can pair the FR-1 with Lyngdorf BW-2 woofers.

Designed with an impressive soundstage

The speaker cones are aluminium for lightness and stiffness with a single predictable breakup point, which is handled in the internal filters. The tweeter is a textile soft dome (redesigned from the Lyngdorf MH-2) to match the higher output of the FR-1 — resulting in high sensitivity and a convincing, wide soundstage.

The FR-1 emphasizes dynamic music reproduction and natural timbre while remaining compact and visually discreet — ideal for wall-mounted systems where space or aesthetic considerations matter.
