Lyngdorf Audio BW-2 – Active High Bandwidth Subwoofer

The BW-2 is engineered as a high-bandwidth active subwoofer where form follows function. Its minimalistic design focuses all resources on accurate sound reproduction, delivering full dynamics and precise transient response suitable for music and home cinema. Unlike conventional subwoofers, the BW-2 can extend its effective bandwidth up to 800 Hz when used in bypass mode, allowing it to follow the input signal with exceptional precision — making it capable of reproducing musical mid-bass content as well as low-frequency effects.

Key design points include a 10″ long-throw driver with a 50 mm voice coil and deep-anodized aluminium cone for controlled, low-distortion performance. Lyngdorf’s in-house refined Class-D amplifier delivers 400 watts of output for tight control of the driver even at high levels. The BW-2 offers two input modes: a conventional Line In mode with a typical subwoofer range (25–200 Hz) and a Bypass mode (25–800 Hz) for use with Lyngdorf amplifiers or as a boundary woofer. Physical design allows upright or side placement and the model is available in high-gloss black or matte white to integrate discreetly into contemporary interiors.
